What's New in Vuforia Expert Capture?

Here's a spotlight on what's new in the Vuforia Expert Capture 3.6.0 release:

Step Check™ - Full Release
AI-enhanced visual inspection for Quality Control

Step Check is now officially out of beta! Step Check is PTC's visual inspection solution powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and our Computer Vision technology.

Higher quality, less rework, and a more efficient workforce:

Step Check makes inspections more efficient by guiding workers through the process with visual feedback. It automatically checks the inspected products and parts and compares them with the documentation. Workers receive visual warnings and feedback about pass/fail states, making inspections easier.

With this full-release version, you will notice some new features such as:

  • The Step Check mode that has been set for the step is now displayed on the step card
  • A new menu is available for markers on a step with Step Check enabled which allows you to either remove Step Check and the point marker or convert the Step Check and point marker to just a point marker.

What's New in Vuforia Expert Capture/Instruct?

Here's a spotlight of the most recent Vuforia Expert Capture & Instruct updates:

Step Check (Beta): New Modes to
Choose how your AI Trains Itself

You will notice 2 new modes in the Step Check Tab (Setup and Active). These modes allow you to choose how you want the enhanced AI to learn about your steps. To give the AI a manual head start to learn a procedure, use the "Setup" mode to activate guided training to help train the step. Otherwise, the "Active" mode allows you to collect training images and data over an extended period while users execute procedures during their daily work.

Boost inspection productivity & quality with Step Check (Beta) AI:

The AI model used by Step Check (Beta) can be trained with little data to adapt to individual products. The solution's continuous learning capabilities improve inspection accuracy and efficiency over time, adapting to new data and worker feedback to improve the overall inspection process.

Image Capture:
Capture Critical Information in HD

We have had a lot of requests to improve how Vantage captures images on iOS and HoloLens 2. In this release you will be happy to hear that images captured using the iOS Vantage image feedback feature have been improved to around 4k*2k resolution. Likewise, images captured using the HoloLens 2 Capture app have been improved to around 1080p resolution.

Higher image quality means you can now capture more detailed work instructions and step feedback in HD - ensuring that critical information is never missed.

But that's not all!

With each release, we have a ton of new improvements. Here are just a few other highlights from the last releases:

  • Step card UX/UI - has been improved to make it more compact and use less screen space, in addition to including more text by default.
  • Insights - Organization Administrators Can Now Control Visible Information in Viewer Insights Table

What's New in Vuforia Expert Capture/Instruct?

Here's a spotlight of the most recent Vuforia Expert Capture & Instruct updates:

Vuforia Insights Updates:
You asked for it - now it is here!

Due to such popular demand, we have made some significant changes to Vuforia Insights to help you understand user activity even better than before. To start with - we have improved the filter options so that you can now filter by procedures. And when we say 'procedure', we mean ALL procedures. No matter if a procedure is complete, incomplete, or has been deleted, you will now be able to apply the appropriate filter to find the procedures you need. You will also notice that you can now see time-stamped information for each step.

Data to improve your procedures and detect product anomalies early

Now your admins and managers can really deep dive into the usage of your procedures. Learn which procedures are being used or if your users are getting stuck on a specific step of a procedure. This time-stamped information, allows you to understand if your procedure content matches the user needs and can even help you to identify product anomalies early.
