What's New In Vuforia Expert Capture?

Here's a spotlight on what's new in the Vuforia Expert Capture 3.17.0 release:

New Feature: Step Check™ for Part Markers
Faster step creation with improved accuracy & robustness

If you love using Part Markers to identify critical components in your procedures, get ready to be excited by utilizing Step Check to perform AI-enhanced quality inspections directly on your Part Markers. This makes it quicker and easier to create your Step Check procedures - simply click the part you want to enable for Step Check, and you are done! Enabling Part Markers for your end users also allows them to perform checks quicker and easier - since the part itself is enabled for Step Check, they now have a full 360° range of view around the entire part and our AI will guide them to the most optimal viewpoint.

But that's not all! To make Step Check for Part Markers possible, we have done some serious work under the hood to improve our in-house AI. The result is improved accuracy and robustness for you and your users, especially when dealing with cases where the viewing direction is essential.

But that's not all!

With each release, we have a ton of new improvements. Here are just a few other highlights from the last releases:

  • Automatic Image Feedback - is now enabled by default when a step is set to Pass/Fail with Step Check.
  • iOS/Android  - When using multiple part markers, the wayfinder is now only shown if all markers are occluded.
  • iOS/Android - When a Step Check step has both Auto Proceed and Require Image Feedback enabled, the step will proceed automatically after a pass result is given and the required feedback image has been taken by the user.

What's New In Vuforia Expert Capture?

Here's a spotlight on what's new in the Vuforia Expert Capture 3.11.0 release:

Auto Proceed: New Step Check feature for
 fast-paced inspection environments

AI enhanced Step Check just got even smarter! 'Auto Proceed' is a new mode that helps frontline workers navigate demanding inspection procedures more quickly and efficiently. When enabled, users are automatically advanced to the next step if Step Check has determined a ‘Pass’ state.

With Auto Proceed, you ensure that your employees spend most of their valuable time focusing on failed steps that need their attention - while keeping the peace of mind that all the steps (Pass and Fail) will continue to be documented in the final protocol for reporting purposes.

To turn on Auto Proceed - simply navigate to the Step Check tab inside Editor and select Auto Proceed from the drop-down.

Confidence metrics:
Understand the reliability of your Step Check procedures

Our new confidence metrics let your editors/authors know how reliable a Step Check procedure is before it's rolled out to the shop floor. The goal is to get as close as possible to 100% for the most accurate results. So, don’t forget to turn on ‘Continue Training’; this will collect more AI training data in the background with each procedure usage. And, once you are confident, why not turn on Auto Proceed?

Your editors/authors can find the confidence metrics data directly in the Step Check dashboard and Step Check tab. A new column titled Confidence is available that displays a numerical value for each step. These numerical values indicate the system’s current confidence in the Step Check performance. You can use this number to either ensure you are rolling out appropriately trained procedures to your workers or watch it grow as each usage adds to the AI training data.

Smart Editor Filters:
Remembers where you left off

You asked for it - and we heard you! It might sound small, but this improvement should make it easier and faster to find what you want.
